Norfolk Christian guard Latrice Hunter has committed to play her College Basketball in-state for Coach Debbie Taylor at William & Mary in the CAA.

Hunter, who measures in at 5-foot-7, will go into her senior season as the all-time leading scorer in Norfolk Christian history. She has been a major part of the program since her eighth grade year when the team won the first of consecutive VIS Division II state titles.

In the 2010 State Championship game as a ninth grader, Hunter scored 20 points in a win over Hampton Roads Academy, which at the time featured current Woodside star guard Adrienne Motley. Hunter took home State Tournament MVP honors that year.

Currently, Hunter plays on the AAU circuit for the Boo Williams travel team, which recently got as far as the quarterfinals in the Nike Invitational. On the court, she's described as a transition player that is quick and able to create off the dribble, whether it's penetrating to score or dish and set someone up for a basket. In addition, Hunter's outside shot has shown improvement over the last couple of seasons.

Last season she finished with averages of 20.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Hunter ended the year with 144 field goals made and earned All-State First Team honors as well as All-Tidewater Conference First Team.

That followed a sophomore campaign where Hunter put up 19 points and six assists per game, helping Norfolk Christian to a 22-8 overall record.

After a 3-26 finish in 2010-11, William & Mary went 10-20 overall this past season. Taylor's team fell to VCU in the opening round of the CAA Tournament held in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Of the 14 players on the Lady Tribe's roster, only two were seniors.

At William & Mary, Hunter plans to major in exercise science.
